We specialize in organizing tours through Russia and the former countries of the USSR for the members of Motorcaravan Clubs.

DAY 1

Arrival in St-Petersburg. Meeting with the guide/representative of the travel company AroundRu living in St-Petersburg. Parking at the Central Yacht-Club. Free time (Dinner)

DAY 2
(Breakfast)
9.00 The bus tour around the city with the guide (3 hours). Getting acquainted with the city, its main sights with the stops (5-10 minutes) at several places (the Island of Vasilyevsky, the cathedral of Smolny, the Isaac Square, the Cruiser Aurora etc.). The guide tells about the foundation and development of the Northern Capital and pays much attention to the contacts of Germany and Denmark with St-Petersburg

The city tour ends at the Hermitage, and the group has a wonderful chance:
EXTRA:
1) To visit the Hermitage/3 hours (paid extra);
2) To have lunch in downtown (paid extra);
3) To have an exclusive tour around St-Petersburg’s subway stations with the guide/1 hour (paid extra);
4) To have free time and walk around the city without the guide;
5) To have dinner in downtown (paid extra)
Commentaries: St-Petersburg’s subway is a very convenient, quick and reasonable means of transport. For people that come from small western towns it is very beautiful, interesting and unusual with each station devoted either to some event or person.

Winding up the day the guide leads the group to the subway, tells how to get to the Yacht Club or accompanies the group there, or explains how to get to downtown so that the group could spend its free time on its own if necessary.

1. The Hermitage – 25 $/per person;
2. The tour around St-Petersburg’s subway stations – 5$/per person;

DAY 3

9.00 The bus tour to Peterhof famous for its unique fountains (4-5 hours) with an excursion. There are no such fountains even in Versailles! The group visits the Nizhny Park and the Grand Palace or one of the small palaces (Monplaisir etc) with the guide.
After the excursion the group comes back to downtown or the Yacht Club by bus

EXTRA:
In the evening the group can have the boat or bus excursion “Northern Venice” with the guide showing and talking about some bridges and canals of St-Petersburg. There are about 300 bridges in St-P; many of them are unique (paid extra).

DAY 4

The group can have (approximate prices below are given per person without the bus rent):
EXTRA:
1. St. Isaac’s Cathedral. Entrance fee – 8$, with the guide – 12$/per person; 1,5 hour
2. The Petropavlovskaya fortress with the visit of the Petropavlovsky cathedral. Entrance fee – 7$, with the guide – 11$/per person; 1,5 hour
3. The Church of the Bleeding Savior. Entrance fee – 8$, with the guide – 12$/per person; 1 hour
4. The Yusupovsky Palace. Entrance fee – 7$/per person

When the transfer necessary, the price is negotiated with the guide

DAY 5

Leaving St-Petersburg for the capital of Karelia - Petrozavodsk
15.00 Meeting with the guide/representative of the travel company AroundRu on the main road ”St-Petersburg-Petrozavodsk” at the place (it’ll be negotiated with the group later) where the caravan turns in the direction of the Karelian village Kinerma.
The hostess of the village will give a tour around the village and its chapel.
This small 17-house village is a unique complex monument of the folk wooden architecture
of the Karelian-Livviks. For the first time Kinerma was mentioned in 1563. The village experienced a long period of suffering and destruction. In spite of this you can still meet the representatives of old Karelian families, the founders of this village.

10.00 The bus tour around the town of Petrozavodsk founded by Peter the Great.
The history and the architecture of the city (downtown, the harbour, shops) and the visit to the Puppet Museum

EXTRA: Trip to the island of Kizhi along the lake of Onega by hydrofoil (1 hour and a half to Kizhi) or by helicopter (20 minutes to Kizhi). An excursion around the masterpiece of Russian wooden architecture - Kizhi Architectural Ensemble and the village of the 19th century (paid extra)

DAY 7

10.00 The bus trip to the north of Petrozavodsk with the guide and an excursion passing numerous lakes of the area towards the first Russian mineral-water health resort (Spa) "Martial Waters" with 4 springs of iron rich curative water. Peter the Great established this resort in the early 18th century as a Russian alternative to Baden-Baden. Nearby is the wooden museum of the history of the resort and the Church of Apostle Peter built according to the drawings of Tzar Peter in 1721. The group moves to the Kivach Waterfalls and Nature Reserve where it can enjoy nice views and learn a lot of facts about Karelian nature. On the way back the group visits the town of Kondopoga, and the Church of Assumption

DAY 8

EXTRA:
The group can visit the town of Sortavala and the Island of Valaam with an excursion around the pearl of the Ladoga. People came to Valaam in ancient times. The island has a male monastery with a most interesting history. This is the biggest unusual island in the archipelago with the rich forest beautifying the solitude of cliffs (paid extra).

EXTRA:
The trip to the Solovetsky Island along the White Sea. Nobody will feel indifferent to the wonderful land not far from the Arctic Circle. Solovky with its tragic fortune will seize consciousness. Up to 1939 it was a jail for people exiled by the Soviet government and religious criminals. During the Second World War some part of the Northern Navy was located there. And now it is an active male monastery (paid extra).
