View into the reception hall

Negative one:

Finally arrived we had to wait still almost two hours for our rooms. We were led wordless into the inner court of the hotel and were allowed as remuneration a drink of our selection - all thing at own expense - hmmm....

Unfortunately we were put off again and again around 5 or 10 minutes, otherwise we would have used the time for a first walk for the beach. But one cannot do this " only 5 minute mentality " the hotel charge - this is usual in completely Tunesien.

On some days one had the impression that one spent 25% of the daily with " waiting for anything "

Then we got finally (so against 14.oo o´clock) our rooms - unfortunately without the posted sea view - however that were being to blame for of the Tour operator ALL ROUTE. One had forgotten to Frankfurt airport to enter this little thing into the hotel coupon.

In the big and whole one, you can be satisfied with the service of the hotel. It indeed gives other 4- stars hotels in the neighborhood that "have considerably more luxuries" in the receive hall and the plant (such as the Phoenecia) however one wants be able only to match that, if one lives there also some time.

All doors, the soils etc. became daily several times deseamed, the first impression was therefore clean and maintained. This impression however still clouded itself later with closer looking. At the breakfast tables still the remnants of the day before, the table cloth were situated even dirty with residue of eggs and so on, between the freshly presented sausage and plates of cheese, jam and who knows which still everything...

The chambermaids the immaculate guest should " daily " let a few dinar on the pillow, so that he receives the performance, for which he paid already. Otherwise towels are missing, the beds are not made any longer, do not become expendable material in the bath refilled.

In the inner court the thirsty guest could sit one hour long to get without drinking something. Also that put only if one gave generous tip

Even if probably particularly with the " Hammamet Regency " does not have to do, we had the impression that one " acquires " a tidy operation in Tunesien had. In order to be unfair - some waiters made their work correct and with a friendly smile on their Lips.

Oh - before I forget it: Not everybody, who can hold shears, is a hairdresser! If somebody visit the local hairdresser in the hotel, will look like me - and who wants already this??

Positive one:

Here in the first place the hotel rooms are to be called. These are relatively large and with telephone, radio (beautiful orient music), televisions equipped. The telephone must be de-energised beforehand at the rezeption, otherwise one can telephone only within the hotel. Telephone calls from the hotel room are relatively expensively - for longer foreign telephone calls one should use the " Taxiphones " available at the edges of road - there can one after 21.oo o´clock telephone for 1 dinar one minute long to Germany.

Leave your mobile phone at home - neither D1 nor e-plus can log in there.

Since four different German television stations will receive, one knows itself also in the vacation each day over those Messages annoy.

The whole body Massage is particularly recommendable with Lidya - this is however not completely in vain - 30 minutes costs 20 dinar, thus approx. 35 DM.

Of other guests we heard the fact that times this or that one did not function in the rooms - in our room everything works correct.

To my desire for a remote maintenance for the television and a multi-frequency-suited telephone still on the same day one followed - thus - goes nevertheless!

Buffet at the Swimmingpool

Meal / food supply

The dinner in the Regency changed daily between á la carte and Buffett.

While you are able to select with á la carte between five main courts, whereby always a Tunisian speciality is included, one knows with the Buffett calories to feast.

Unfortunately the quality was regularly bad with beef - one should fall back thus rather to courts with fish or poultry.

Emphasize especially positively can one the Dessert buffett - the holiday-maker tormented by the sun then gives the rest to himself here.

If the departure before 6.oo clock should be situated, one must be given to answer at the day before at the reception, be prepared thus the breakfast (which one is still entitled) in time can. Here we had unfortunately to state that "four asteriks Hammamet Regency" said good-bye with its guests with dry bread of the day before and a bucket jam. The coffee was cold, the milk on the electrical warmer had thickly started - hmm - have a good time...

Refeed from the finest one...

Total:

Surely one may not expect a hotel with world standard in a country such as Tunisia.

However somewhat more immaculateness - in particular with food - would have helped to forget a lot.

Similarly as in Turkey one should take an asterisk off on reservation of a hotel in Tunisia - then one becomes also fair the hotel and its own expectations.
